PRELIMINARY ORIENTATION TO QUAIL SPRINGS
A detailed orientation, packing list, and directions to the parking
site will be sent to you closer to the event after your registration is
confirmed.
Quail Springs is in a land of high desert beauty and extremes and all
visitors should be well prepared for their stay here. Our 450 acre
site is at about 3,800 feet elevation in a remote canyon, surrounded on
three sides by national forest. In August, the climate will be hot
during the day, dry with cool nights and mornings. We operate with a
community straw bale building, kitchen, composting toilets, camping
areas, large swimming pond, a cold-water shower stall, and acres and
acres of wilderness. All people are here at their own risk. Emergency
service/911 is via helicopter. Basic first aid is available on site. We
cannot accommodate guest pets.
Meals: Delicious and nourishing catered meals will be provided
Friday, August 29th breakfast through Sunday, August 31st lunch, with
the exception that Saturday's lunch is the "Southern California
Homegrown Potluck" (see below). You will need to bring your own
dishes/utensils, water bottle – details will be provided in packing
list.
"Southern California Homegrown Potluck" lunch on Saturday of the Convergence:
Everyone please bring some foods and drinks (that do not need
refrigeration) that you or others in your region have grown or
wildcrafted! You can bring an already prepared food, or bring the raw
materials and our kitchen wizards will incorporate it into other
all-regional dishes.
Accommodations: Camping on site with your own gear. Possible
hotel/motel options in the local area will be provided upon request for self booking. We encourage camping on site to
participate fully in the Convergence program and to minimize daily car
travel.
Please visit our website for more about Quail Springs www.quailsprings.org .

You may choose to arrive the evening before start of the Convergence -
